Community engagement


Sydney Metro would like to do more than simply keep the communities in which we work up to date with the latest project developments: we are keen to listen, we want to exchange ideas and encourage discussion.

Which is why, in addition to the more traditional methods of communication, Sydney Metro is making the most of the web for online community engagement.

The aim of this approach is to broaden the reach of our communications and give those with an interest in the project the opportunity to have their say at a time and place that is most convenient to them.

Community forums
The Your Say section of this website connects to an independently monitored community forum, where discussion topics are posted in order to encourage discussion and debate.

Quick Surveys
In order for us to find out how the community feels about certain issues we will run quick polls or surveys regularly.

Feedback forms/email contact
In addition to our forums, we will always provide an avenue for the community to send us their feedback, comments or suggestions. 

Newsfeeds
When important news is at hand we will send a news update to all those who subscribe to our  e-mailing list, inviting them to come back and visit the site to find out more.

Direct consultation

Place Managers
Our Place Managers provide the community with direct access to a single point of contact at the Sydney Metro office.

They meet regularly with local residents and businesses to listen to their views about the Metro and to provide specific information. Visit the Contact Us section of this site to find the most appropriate Place Manager for your area of interest.

Community information sessions

Community information sessions are held regularly, enabling the community to meet face to face with members of the Sydney Metro team, discuss the key features of the metro and ask any questions they may have. Visit What's Happening to find out about upcoming sessions.

Comments and enquiries
Members of the Sydney Metro Communications team are available during business hours to respond to enquiries and/or receive comments regarding the Metro via the Infoline, email or post. Visit the Contact Us section of this site for details.
