Stage 2 Station Locations
Eleven stations are proposed for Stage 2 of the Sydney Metro network, between Central and Westmead.

Broadway – The University of Sydney
Improved access for one of Australia’s premier universities,
The University of Sydney as well as the Broadway retail
precinct and surrounding residential areas including Glebe,
Darlington and Chippendale.
Camperdown
Improved access for staff, patients and visitors to major
hospitals and health complexes in the Camperdown area.
Improve access for students and staff of The University of
Sydney. Easy walk access for a substantial and growing
area, and providing a faster and more reliable alternative to
bus services.
Leichhardt
Direct service to a popular and growing retail, restaurant
and residential hub. Offer direct and frequent travel to link
Leichhardt to other key destinations on the metro network
including the University of Sydney, Olympic Park and the City.
Provides a five minute travel link between Leichhardt and the
CBD. Reduce Parramatta Road and CBD bus congestion.
Five Dock
Provides a transport hub for Five Dock, with easy interchange
between local and cross-regional bus services and metro.
This transport hub supports improved urban amenity and
regeneration of the Five Dock village centre and will serve the
growth areas along the foreshore of the Parramatta River.
Burwood
Supports major planned employment and residential growth
in the Burwood Town Centre, improves access to shopping,
restaurants and cross-regional buses.
Strathfield
Convenient link to Strathfield CityRail station and bus
interchange – giving commuters from other areas a quick
link to Leichhardt, hospitals and The University of Sydney.
Provide access for Strathfield residents to a wider range of
employment, retail and leisure opportunities.
Sydney Olympic Park
Boosts access to Sydney Olympic Park’s employment,
entertainment and residential centres and caters for even
greater public transport support for major events. Supports
major employment and residential growth planned for Sydney
Olympic Park. Provides a quick, direct link to Parramatta,
Strathfield and the inner west.
Silverwater
Improves access to residential and industrial areas and
improves the urban amenity and accessibility of the area.
Provides the potential for creation of a village centre and a
park and ride facility.
Camellia
Potential for a large scale park and ride location easily
accessed from James Ruse Drive. Improved transport
access to University of Western Sydney Rydalmere campus,
adjoining industrial estates and the Rosehill employment,
residential and entertainment areas.
Parramatta
Fast, convenient connections for Sydney’s second CBD. Provides more reliable and faster travel times for people
travelling to Parramatta for retail, entertainment, health
care, legal and education purposes. Supports further retail,
residential and commercial growth for Parramatta. It also
supports the bus and CityRail network.
Westmead
Direct link to the North West Transitway. Opens up access to
the Westmead University of Western Sydney and Westmead
Hospitals and health care precincts. Convenient interchange
for people travelling from the Blue Mountains, Penrith and
Blacktown areas to key destinations.
